THIS IS THE REPORT I WROTE IN 2008
Well what can I say:

We were lucky on arrival we had been upgraded to a bungalow room...still not sure why!!

We have been using this Hotel for a few years now, the reception staff even remembered our names.

Thank god we had only gone B&B, the meals were appalling, last year we got a cooked breakfast...this year there was a lad dealing out toast, tasteless jam, a few bananas, bread, yukky margarine etc

I cant comment on the evening meals but heard lots of complaints.

Hire charges were expensive, Fridge was £58 @ week same for air con, think the fans werent much cheaper.

On the plus side, the rooms were clean, lovely fluffy towels, nice pool for cooling down in. Great restraunts locally, amazing beaches and friendly people.

We sponser a little girl and her family over here so spend most of our time visiting with her and the family, so cant advise on trips as we dont do any or not much these days!!! Unless we go with the family and friends.

If you turn right when you hit the beach and walk for about ten minutes you will see a sign for Kotu Point Beach Bar, very comfy sunbeds. Ask for Faxey and give him best wishes from Linda & Colin he will make you very welcome.

At The Palma Rima say Hi to Suks he is the best waiter there, met Suks last year and is going to college to improve his and his families life.

Remember Gambia is a very poor country. Stay on the main roads especially at night (we had a bad experience down a dark lane). Be firm but polite with Bumpsters.

I recommend the following restraunts:-
Amsterdam Dolphin
Henri's
Luigi's

Also there is a now a Funfair called "Dream Palace"...50 delassi to go in, 50/75 delassi a ride. Had 4 coffees, 2 Fantas and 2 Chicken and Chips...the bill came to 330 delassi, GREAT.

* Liked — Bungalow room, pool and the people

Sorry got carried away with the smilies

A shot from the grounds.

You can just see my Land Rover 110 in the background.

I've used the Palma Rima for over ten yeras now. It's starting to show it's age a bit but it's very cheap.

I stay here when all I need is a base and I can travel off knowing I've not wasted too much money through leaving a room empty. If I'm staying near the coast I'll often pick a better hotel.
